Follow the fundraising plan to achieve the milestones for the financing round you will go through when approaching investors (Seed, Series A, etc.)
- Prepare a list of potentially interested parties.
- Create your marketing material to sell your company to investors. For early-stage companies, it usually is enough to have an Executive Summary or One-pager of the company, a pitch deck and a technology deck.
- Get a warm intro to investors and plan to end up the process with more than one term sheet on the table to give you room to negotiate!
- NDAs are not often used in the VC industry as the relationship is like a marriage and should be based on trust.
- Don’t raise a super high valuation at the beginning of your startup journey that could risk losing the next round!
